Just like the mice people cannot leave the 'box'. The whole is broken up into different social groups. Each with their own way of doing things. Each wanting what another group has. The problem with Calhoun's experiment is that it was not a utopia but a prison. Even though all basic resources were met, the mice still segregated themselves which ultimately destroyed them.

 

government itself is a cybernetic system. only it seems those who get to push the buttons are too egocentric with the ethos of  their achievement. in a sense they have become destroyers of worlds. the experimentation's conducted to build the technological aspects of cybernetics were achieved without any sense of morals. triggering electrodes in the brains of animals and humans is just part of the overall experiment.

 

only when it's built and online do we see the morality of the situation. No one heeded the warnings. psychology and justice are now hand in hand in the social structure of our world. programmed both into the biological and mechanical machines. melding them together to form one system of equation.

 

perhaps the ultimate goal is too have one cybernetic system to rule them all?
