50 facts the world needs to know

Since the end of World War Two the Central Intelligence Agency has been a major force in US and foreign news media, exerting considerable influence over what the public sees, hears and reads on a regular basis. CIA publicists and journalists alike will assert they have few, if any, relationships, yet the seldom acknowledged history of their intimate collaboration indicates a far different story–indeed, one that media historians are reluctant to examine.

One can suppose it takes a criminal mind to catch a criminal these days.  Therefore, the world is run by criminals!  Have a nice day.  :)

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but from the following excerpts:

number 9 "Psychological operations in the form of journalism were perceived as necessary to influence and direct mass opinion, as well as elite perspectives."

Throw that in with....

number 16 "National Enquirer publisher Gene Pope Jr. worked briefly on the CIA’s Italy desk in the early 1950s and maintained close ties with the Agency thereafter."

All kinds of fear and crazy, stupid stories can be inserted into the public psyche as a whole.  Filling individual imaginations with 'consumer' needs.  Direct from the publishers...they're all Mad Men!

The bigger the impression the better.  Just like a lie!  The bigger it gets the more people believe it.  Add coercion into the mix (threats of livelihood, social out casting, jail, or even death) for those that don't cooperate and pretty soon the whole of the Earth will be owned.  Easy enough to denigrate a human being with imaginative stories that are untrue.  Gossip does wonderful things for the essence within mind control technique...we all love to talk about others behind their backs.

Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles, and was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA. The organization recruited leading American journalists into a network to help present the CIA's views, and funded some student and cultural organizations, and magazines as fronts. As it developed, it also worked to influence foreign media and political campaigns, in addition to activities by other operating units of the CIA.

Now, we can rewind and play with sound and images to create anything we like for or against anyone or anything. Didn't Cosby put out a media call to make a meme to promote his new tv show before his downfall?  Well, I believe he got his wish.

Wicked stuff!
