Revealed: US spy operation that manipulates social media

What about sock puppet software that is run by software? Sort of a layered cyber-universe. What does the end-user agreement really say?

Every material thing gets recycled on this earth. Even in cyberspace! Ghost puppets in the machine! Any real ones floating around in there?

What is sockpuppet marketing?

More Here!
A very good discussion on this issue!

6 Examples of Media Manipulation

The world of television and modern media has become a tool of de-evolution, propaganda and social control. Since the reign of Edward Bernays and the rise of the Tavistock Institute in the early 20th century, nearly unlimited resources have been applied to understanding how to manipulate the human psyche through television and other forms of mass media.

What we have today is an increasingly sophisticated full-spectrum assault on free will and psychological well-being, and we have come to a point where it is no longer even necessary for media institutions to attempt to hide their blatant work of manipulating public opinion, manufacturing consent, and creating winners and losers in the minds of the already brain-washed public.

Here are 6 examples where truth reveals that the impression the media is conveying to a dumbed-down, unsuspecting public differs greatly from what is actually happening behind the scenes. By looking at these examples in a single location, it is easy to see how the mainstream media pushes ulterior motives on the public, and how important it is to be vigilant when consuming their info.

I think social manipulation has been going on for a long time.  Centuries!  Maybe even for thousands of years.  Here's a fine example of mind manipulation in action.  All up and coming young artists and writers should know about these things.

33 Jokes That Went Way Over Your Head As A Kid

A lifetime of seeing these kinds of images.  Day in and day out.  One can only wonder what kind of long term influence these kinds of subliminal images do over time in a society.

Here's a couple of examples:

SUBLIMINAL COMMUNICATION

...is the process whereby you receive and respond to a visual or sound message without being aware of it. The message in the form of printed words, pictures or voices is presented either so rapidly or faintly that you are not consciously aware of having seen or heard anything. But you react to it anyway. Messages programmed directly to the subconscious by-pass critical analysis and the conscious choice to accept or reject the message. Repetition of the message constitutes mental programming. Have you consciously noticed the background of this website, for example?

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation. He works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared."

-Marcus Tullius Cicero, 42 B.C.

"War is a racket," wrote Marine Major General Smedley Butler in 1935 in his book by that same title. This two-time recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor goes on to say: "A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many."
