Collective human programming?  Interesting idea.

Maybe it's not reality that bends or alters, but it is the observer that does?

Like a reed in the wind?

Can this manipulate the past events also?

Maybe so...by changing perceptions slowly over time through small generational differences.  All these layers of manipulation stacked up through time start to filter and veil the core truth after a while.

:)

Propaganda is the act of deliberately spreading false or deceptive information, ideas, rumors, doctrines or principals propagated by an organization or movement to help or harm a target person, group of people, movement, institution, nation, etc.

Social Engineering is the practice of influencing public opinion by any means necessary to guide society in a direction that the social engineers wish for them to go.

T. Mills Kelly encourages his students to deceive thousands of people on the Web. This has angered many, but the experiment helps reveal the shifting nature of the truth on the Internet.

The first time Kelly taught the course, in 2008, his students confected the life of Edward Owens, mixing together actual lives and events with brazen fabrications. They created YouTube videos, interviewed experts, scanned and transcribed primary documents, and built a Wikipedia page to honor Owens' memory. The romantic tale of a pirate plying his trade in the Chesapeake struck a chord, and quickly landed on USA Today's pop culture blog. When Kelly announced the hoax at the end of the semester, some were amused, applauding his pedagogical innovations. Many others were livid.
