We all know that certain people within our world hold back, hide, and/or even destroy ancient artifacts for whatever reasons of fear they may have.  Here's a thread for links and information regarding some strange archeological finds . . . .

PIRI REIS MAP

sar_1_a.jpg

In 1929, a group of historians found an amazing map drawn on a gazelle skin.

Research showed that it was a genuine document drawn in 1513 by Piri Reis, a famous admiral of the Turkish fleet in the sixteenth century.

His passion was cartography. His high rank within the Turkish navy allowed him to have a privileged access to the Imperial Library of Constantinople.

The Turkish admiral admits in a series of notes on the map that he compiled and copied the data from a large number of source maps, some of which dated back to
the fourth century BC or earlier.

The Newark, Ohio Decalogue Stone and Keystone

The Decalogue

dec1.gif

In November of 1860, David Wyrick of Newark, Ohio found an inscribed stone in a burial mound about 10 miles south of Newark. The stone is inscribed on all sides with a condensed version of the Ten Commandments or Decalogue, in a peculiar form of post-Exilic square Hebrew letters. The robed and bearded figure on the front is identified as Moses in letters fanning over his head.

The Keystone

keystone.gif

Several months earlier, in June of 1860, Wyrick had found an additional stone, also inscribed in Hebrew letters. This stone, shown above, is popularly known as the "Keystone" because of its general shape. However, it is too rounded to have actually served as a keystone. It was apparently intended to be held with the knob in the right hand, and turned to read the four sides in succession, perhaps repetitively. It might also have been suspended by the knob for some purpose. Although it is not pointed enough to have been a plumb bob, it could have served as a pendulum.

The Eerie Crystal Skulls

skull_hedges2.jpg

The movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull highlights these strange archaeological oddities. Were they created in ancient times for paranormal purposes or are they modern fakes?

Some people with a mystical bend credit them with strange, supernatural powers. Geologists marvel at their size. Archaeologists wonder who made them. And nobody denies that they possess an eerie, horrible beauty unmatched by almost any other objects. They are the crystal skulls.

The Bat Creek Stone

batcrk.jpg

The Bat Creek Stone was professionally excavated in 1889 from an undisturbed burial mound in Eastern Tennessee by the Smithsonian's Mound Survey project. The director of the project, Cyrus Thomas, initially declared that the curious inscription on the stone were "beyond question letters of the Cherokee alphabet."

5,000 year old Egyptian hieroglyphs found in New South Wales

There about 250 stone carvings that have been part of the local folklore of the area for nearly a century with reports of people who sighted them as far back as the early 1900's. The site was secretly visited by families "in the know" in the 1950's and fell back into local mythology for a couple of decades until it was accidentally rediscovered by a man looking for his lost dog.

According to researchers in China, an ancient Chinese manuscript made available to the public in 2011 describes in detail a mysterious event that took place nearly 500 years ago: An Alien Abduction.

Aliens Didn’t Build The Great Serpent Mound!!

http://www.strangehi...t-serpent-mound

Three hundred and twenty million years ago, a large meteor crashed into present day southwestern Ohio. It left a crpytoexplosion structure (crater rim), five miles wide in what is now Adams County, Ohio, near the town of Peeples. The force of the meteor strike created a plateau, on which the Fort Ancient culture built the Great Serpent Mound.  This mound is largest serpent effigy in the world, constructed approximately 900 years ago.

Thanks for this one.     :)

It's interesting because western societies, in general, don't really pay too much attention to eastern attitudes. Not just politics and ideas, but the strange and esoteric, too. The world turns. All those eastern ideas of old have traveled west and now back round they go to the east. Spinning the planets mix of ingredients as it goes.

Sometimes ideas travel like hurricanes...

Are they truly gone with the wind?

;)

There's all kinds of stuff buried all over the planet. Some of it has already been dug up and hidden away.  ;)

Not to be seen by anyone.......................ever!  :P
