Jamming the Jihad: Russian Electronic Warfare Systems Spotted in Syria

The Russian military has deployed its mobile, ground-based electronic warfare system Krasukha-4 in Syria, according to footage placed on Russia's Zvezda news network.

At the beginning of the video (the 6th second), which shows a Russian-made Su-25 landing at a Syrian airfield, a characteristic set of antenna devices is visible in the background. These could be the Krasukha-4 system, Zvezda reported.

Russia Shows Off Latest, Greatest Military Hardware at Arms Expo

Microwave guns, acrobatic robots, and particle beams: It sounds like science fiction, but these are some of the gadgets among the military hardware unveiled at Russia’s annual four-day arms expo outside Moscow. Part arms bazaar, part marketing ploy, the exhibition is meant to show off the fruits of the Kremlin’s decade-long $700 billion military modernization project and to trumpet its self-declared return to the ranks of the world’s elite militaries. Though with falling oil prices and a depreciating ruble, the money needed for the vast project might run out first.

In response, Russia sent an unarmed bomber Su- 24 to fly around the U.S. destroyer. However, experts say that this plane was equipped with the latest Russian electronic warfare complex. According to this version, "Aegis" spotted from afar the approaching aircraft, and sounded alarm. Everything went normally, American radars calculated the speed of the approaching target. And suddenly all the screens went blank. "Aegis" was not working any more, and the rockets could not get target information. Meanwhile, Su-24 flew over the deck of the destroyer, did battle turn and simulated missile attack on the target. Then it turned and repeated the maneuver. And did so 12 times.

The newest Russian drone strike images and videos are of a much better quality than what the western news media ever showed in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Technology of the day.  All is good, propaganda flourishes well.

The Empire of Chaos is in a Jam

The no-fly zone in Syria already exists. It is run by Russia and Washington is unable to jam it.

NATO is desperate. The Pentagon is desperate. Imagine waking up one day in Washington and Brussels just to realize Russia has the ability to electronically jam — detect, trace, disable, destroy — NATO electronics within a 600 km range across Syria (and southern Turkey).

Imagine the nightmare of row after row of Russian Richag-AV radar and sonar jamming systems mounted on helicopters and ships jamming everything in sight and finding every available source of electromagnetic radiation. Not only in Syria but also in Ukraine.

Syria seem to be a testing ground of sorts. Proxy wars everywhere preparing for direct contact soon enough!
