That's the idea. The magic lantern and it's effects present us all with projections of other peoples ideas. I like the idea of using that for the inner image one needs to project out into more positive things...

Check out this thread on pop culture. It presents an idea of how our current situation within this world is influenced by what the 'magic lantern' presents to us everyday:

...and then there is the use of words and what they can really mean in our everyday lives. That and the use of subliminal symbolism:

I guess it could be what each of us chooses to put our spotlights on. All those pretty lights. Dazzling our senses and filling our souls with emotion. What 'lights' do you see? What 'clicks' on inside an emotional level when one focuses on specific items of interest under the spotlight?

Is it good for your inner well being when negative emotions flood inside from a directed spotlight not of your own making? What one chooses to focus on has a direct bearing on how our own emotions can affect our decision making processes.

What vices get turned on? What virtues? What are you willing to buy to fulfill a 'need' inside the self. What is the real price when a contract is made. Did you read the fine print? Or, did the spotlight of distraction give way to desire....

Ah, but that is only the light show. Let us not forget about the walls of sound blasting forth to deafen our senses from sensibility.

US Air Force Launches Top-Secret ‘Holographic Projector’ Research Program

According to a 1999 Washington Post website report, the US Air Force starts a research program this year to develop a “holographic projector” as a psychological warfare weapon. Holograms are three-dimensional images created by laser technology. The US military explored the idea of using holograms during the 1991 Gulf War to deceive the Iraqis, but did not pursue it for technical reasons. One idea was to project a hologram of Allah several hundred feet in size over Baghdad, but this would take a mirror in space more than a mile square, plus huge projectors and power sources. Additionally, there are strict Islamic proscriptions on the depiction of Allah. However, the US military did not abandon the concept. “The Gulf War hologram story might be dismissed were it not the case that [the Post] has learned that a super secret program was established in 1994 to pursue the very technology for PSYOPS [psychological operations] application. The “Holographic Projector” is described in a classified Air Force document as a system to “project information power from space… for special operations deception missions.”

I suppose Disney may take advantage of the innovations discovered to use for entertainment purposes. Drones and holographic projection. What a show!

Yep! There's some out of site shit when you look into it. Science Fiction type stuff. One could imagine Star Wars in the sky using images and real bombs to really drive the prophecies home.

Holographic projection, also known as “strategic perception management,” can turn the whole sky into a one big LCD screen to beam holograms from multiple space-satellites and aerial drones. Ever wonder why the U.S. has over 1,000 active satellites in space? They’re not just for weather and spying. These satellites have the capability of beaming images off each other to create a 360 degree Disneyland movie theater.  Outmoded transparent hologram images have been replaced with holograms that can project full sound, light, heat, and everything needed to make it Hollywood believable.

Holograms Coming to a Military Theater Near You

The military’s increased reliance on virtual reality to train warfighters may be converging with rapid advances in technology that will bring the holodeck of Star Trek fame closer to actuality. Holograms and similar technologies offer the possibility of realistic, cost-effective training and education for a broad array of military missions and commercial applications.

He posits that a holographic virtual human could follow a service member throughout the person’s career. We’ve all had teachers, coaches or mentors who have significantly influenced our lives, Richmond says, and holograms could do the same. “That virtual character, if it’s tied into the right databases, knows the classes you’ve taken, has been around you enough to know your strengths and weaknesses, and [can] guide you through challenges and experiences that you come upon as you advance through your career,” Richmond suggests.

Advanced artificial intelligence technology would be needed for virtual life coaches, and the technology is making rapid strides. “Artificial intelligence ends up being a big part of it, and it is a very broad field with a difficult set of challenges. That’s why we have people working on the basic research side of things, and we also have people building the advanced prototypes so that we can actually put these things out in the field and test them to see what breaks,” Richmond says.

There you go. It's technically possible to beam down holograms from the sky. Disney wants to try it out for entertainment purposes...

Historical Periods in Television Technology

The first element in the FCC History Project was focused on the technological history of television. During the summer of 2003, the FCC recognized some of television's key inventions and inventors. Through a small exhibit and display in its Washington, D.C. headquarters, the FCC hoped to inform and, possibly, inspire with a few reminders of the great achievements that make television as we know it today possible. Information and links on this web page are designed to provide a fuller understanding of television's technology.

History of Television

From Grolier Encyclopedia

Article by Mitchell Stephens

Few inventions have had as much effect on contemporary American society as television. Before 1947 the number of U.S. homes with television sets could be measured in the thousands. By the late 1990s, 98 percent of U.S. homes had at least one television set, and those sets were on for an average of more than seven hours a day. The typical American spends (depending on the survey and the time of year) from two-and-a-half to almost five hours a day watching television. It is significant not only that this time is being spent with television but that it is not being spent engaging in other activities, such as reading or going out or socializing.

Thus, the "Visionary Period" of television ended with two competing methods of broadcasting having been developed and some broadcasts having taken place. But the American public, except for a few electronic and radio hobbyists, remained largely unaware of and completely untouched by television.

Origins of Marathon TV

But how does Marathon TV work? It is a continuous broadcast of a single show with multiple episodes or perhaps a single artist’s work in cinema. It originally started with cable TV distribution replicating the idea of radio show marathons.

Marathon TV is the next step in consuming media. The customer has the choice and they can indulge in having the media work around their schedule instead of being tied to a network schedule. Therefore, broadcast licensing will be changing and channel value will no longer hold the premium it did in the past.

Television is also part of the military entertainment complex...

This dude is a riot. Does TV really shove its virtual cock into your brain? We all love the hypnotic state of television. We become a part of the characters like they're really real. Any idea can be inserted into your brain with the hypno tech. Wait until you see the future. Plug in, tune up, and download the hologram. Can you feel it? Does watching a zombie show really help you form good thoughts?
