Humour is a serious business. . . . .

Are there any triggers here tonight?

Candid interview on what a satirist needs to know. The dangers, the fantasies, the technicalities of taking the real and making it absurd...and vica versa! Especially towards the powers and principalities. There is also a mention concerning 'tweets' and image memes. How they change behaviors by quickening the input and attacking the attention span of the 'user'.

Decoding Photocopy Humor.

Photocopy humor is defined as any facsimile, photocopy, or wire-copy line drawing, iconography, or textual material that was drawn or written for distribution to a larger select audience using the available technology to disperse material intended to be humorous. Professional humor is excluded from this consideration. The content of photocopy humor gives insight into the individuals who create and share it and into the society that inspires it. Photocopy humor usually narrows in on stereotypical aspects of subjects, such as ethnic heritage, gender, age, and socioeconomic status, as a sample of 355 examples of photocopy humor confirms. The prevalence of photocopy humor indicates that it is indeed a form of mass media, one that merits further research. Implications of research to date are that education is the key to debunking the stereotypes and myths that are common commodities in photocopy humor. Four exhibits present examples of photocopy humor.

Good reading!

The distribution aspect as certainly changed the way photocopy humor is transmitted today. It's dated before the internet! This new medium makes it difficult for the regulators and gatekeepers to control.

Although, helpful trolls abound. They cause a lot of filtered noise associated with the general or specified content to keep track of our intake of this powerful cyber tool.

Here something more on this subject

Why's that funny?? An extension to the semantic script theory of humor

That's good. I like that. It reminds me of copy writing and tweets. Quick short, sharp, shocks of headline to bang the head with a quick image. Provided with words alone. Playing with words to form clever hashtags....

How about a game of caption this?
