Intelligent Machines: The jobs robots will steal first

http://www.bbc.com/n...nology-33327659

It could be any job that requires a higher education will be done by machine.  It's cheaper!  Better for business.  Human beings are just fodder to feed the machine.

McDonald’s ex-CEO: $15/hr minimum wage will unleash the robot rebellion

Tells Fox Business a "$35,000 robotic arm" is cheaper than hiring, training mortals.

In an appearance on Fox Business' Mornings with Maria, Ed Rensi claimed that a minimum wage increase to $15 an hour would result in "job loss like you can't believe" before ceding ground to our new robotic overlords. "I was at the National Restaurant Show yesterday, and if you look at the robotic devices that are coming into the restaurant industry—it’s cheaper to buy a $35,000 robotic arm than it is to hire an employee who’s inefficient making $15 an hour bagging French fries."

“These things are great! They get their work done in a fast and orderly manner, plus they don’t ask for cigarette breaks.”

Robotic ‘Alpha’ machine can produce six hamburgers a minute

Covered by Singularity Hub this week, a San Francisco based company called Momentum Machines have developed a new type of robotic assembly line that can produce approximately 360 hamburgers every hour. Called the Alpha machine, the device has been designed to replace all hamburger cooks within a restaurant or fast food establishment. Hypothetically, a fast food restaurant could also place digital touchscreen panels with credit card readers and cash machines at the counter in order to eliminate all cashiers as well. The consumer would simply place an order through the touchscreen and wait for the custom hamburger to appear at the end of the assembly line, likely tagged with an order number.

Wait until they start building ones that feed you too!

Solving the problem of robots. Those random bits of code. They have a habit of forming together from time to time...only take a second! Do the 3 rules apply?

Some of the fastest Rubik’s cube solvers in the world have gotten down to a five second solve — which is quite an incredible feat for a human — but how about one second? Well, [Jay Flatland] and [Paul Rose] just built a robot that can do exactly that.

This is horrible. Now we have to think about what other jobs will be taken over by droids.

Vive le cocktail????

Would you buy a robotic drink maker from these men? I sure would. These are the creators of Monsieur, a robotic bartender that will squirt out a great margarita or a nice Manhattan in about a minute using Android, a bunch of pumps, and some booze.

Think of it this way. You'll no longer have to memorize all those drinks. Pre installed software will mix the perfect drink every time. Just push the button.

Not all the time. There are lots of places out there that make their own signature drinks. Best advice for that is to be polite and ask the customer what way he would like his drink mixed. This guy makes some good videos for people who work in the bar tending industry.

Forgetting Drinks when Bartending - by BartendingPro. In this episode of the Bartending Basics we talk about what do to if you encounter your greatest nightmare when bartending; forgetting drinks. You'll be happy to know is very rare, and not a big deal if you know what to do!
