A few bits of information regarding the current debacles we're facing with the infrastructure of the United States. This isn't just a domestic problem. The whole world needs a steady water supply. Too many break downs are happening for this not to be noticed. I don't expect the major media calling up a cry for further development in this problem. It's a shitty subject. To say the least. Especially when the numbers get involved. Then everybody starts blowing hot air out their asses.

Combined Sewer Systems: Down, Dirty, and Out of Date

When combined sewer systems were introduced in 1855, they were hailed as a vast improvement over urban cesspool ditches that ran along city streets and spilled over when it rained. These networks of underground pipes were designed to dry out streets by collecting rainwater runoff, domestic sewage from newly invented flush toilets, and industrial waste-water all in the same pipe. Waste- and stormwater was then discharged directly into waterways; in the early twentieth century, sewage treatment plants were added to clean the wastewater before it hit streams.

Aging Pipe Proves Expensive for Municipalities

Across the United States, municipal operators face the problems of an aging pipe network: leaks, infiltration, low pressure, tuburculation and even collapse. This is made even more challenging by the fact that older pipe often runs under crowded, well-developed, sometimes historic neighborhoods, necessitating careful planning for repairs and replacement.

The problems are considerable...

Corruption of all sorts poison these public institutions in many ways.

Spreading black plague

For years people have been complaining of waste running down the rivers in America. Doing some research in my own state reveals much behind the curtain of politics we all face today. The great show on the major media hardly touches the real concerns facing the infrastructure of our country today.

Sanitation and transportation stagnation. This topic is good for thoughts on the infrastructure problems facing the United States. The current structures have not kept up with the technological capabilities.

Sinkholes to the sewer

A massive sinkhole in the Studio City section of Los Angeles swallowed two vehicles as Southern California wrestled with a huge Pacific Storm. Authorities say the severe weather has left at least two people dead.

Coupled with new natural disasters the current system will degrade all the faster.
